Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and also what more than a million Danes call home. This beautiful coastal city is big enough to be a metropolis with a wide range of entertainment, culture and shopping, yet still small enough to be intimate, safe and fairly easy to navigate. Overlooking the Øresund strait with Sweden just minutes away, it combines classic culture with continental atmosphere, and is the geographic bridge between mainland Europe and Scandinavia. It is a city where old fairy tales blend with flashy new architecture and world-class design. If you happen to be in the regulatory and clinical trial management space, you should also check out the OCT Nordics 2019 conference in October.
The Outsourcing in Clinical Trials (OCT) Nordics 2019 conference will be held from October 22nd - 23rd at the Scandic Hotel and Conference Venue, in Copenhagen, Denmark. After a successful conference in 2018, Arena International Events Groups will be returning to Copenhagen this year for yet another superb event. With more than 300 attendees expected from across the region, OCT Nordics 2019 will provide two full days of engaging presentations with some of the biggest names in the clinical trial industry.
In 2018, the conference’s main theme was based on how companies developed their outsourcing and clinical operations strategies. The event program covered issues such as exploring new methods for preventing time delays and outlining a practical approach between working with third-party solution providers. Last year provided a very large crowd and successful turn-out of the region’s top pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, CROs and medical device companies who all came together to share their insights into achieving productive and quality-driven clinical trials. In 2019, the conference will be co-located with a brand new event called the Nordic Clinical Supply Meeting. Running in parallel to the main OCT conference activities, the Clinical Supply Meeting will give attendees the opportunity to discover how they can accelerate their trial timelines and cut costs by reducing inefficiencies in their global supply chains. Historically there has always been a great interest in conferences organized by Arena International Events Group and tickets are always limited, so be sure to register your team soon.
For events such as these, it can quickly become overwhelming for a team of company attendees, particularly if limited in size. With so much potential ground to cover, making the most of your time and investment is key, so we’ve put a few tips together for planning out your time in Copenhagen:
Know the area and activities
This year’s OCT Nordics event will bring together the region’s leading groups of executives responsible for outsourcing clinical trials and enhancing partnerships with associated vendors. There will be some valuable guidance through speaker sessions and panel discussions on outsourcing clinical operations and clinical trial technology and overall innovation in the industry, as well as numerous networking opportunities for all attendees.
Some of the features that OCT Nordics 2019 will have to offer include:
- 300+ attendees to meet each year
- 50+ exhibitors to explore
- 40+ speakers
- 82% attendees at director-level or higher
This exceptional conference is a special networking opportunity for industry accelerators in the clinical trial space throughout the Nordic region of the world, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Attendees will be able to meet their colleagues, reveal new insights into common regulatory challenges and engage with seasoned solution providers. During the conference you will be able to join fellow peers and learn new perspectives and studies on recent clinical trial developments through a series of presentations, panel discussions, and round-table sessions. OCT Nordics 2019 will also discuss vital connections between process, tools and techniques in order to manage the upcoming changes in clinical trial technology. The exhibition space will feature some of the best-in-class solution providers who will be able to deliver improvements upon your current clinical trial development. Identify the right companies to meet
Even though this particular conference is small in size with about 300 attendees, OCT Nordics 2019 provides a unique advantage of mingling with people on a tightly wound small scale setting, creating an advantageous atmosphere of very personal experiences and building intimate relationships that would otherwise be difficult to achieve at some of the larger venues. The event’s main theme is geared toward addressing the concerns of trial sponsors based in the Nordic region who are conducting clinical trials at a local and global level. With a quality-driven agenda, interactive networking sessions and a vast array of innovative service providers and speakers, this event is perfect for helping attendees find the best and most cost effective solutions to their current clinical trial challenges.
After listening to some speaker sessions and panel discussions, walk over to visit with the vendors in the exhibitor hall and discover potential solutions that will speed up and lower the costs of your clinical trials. Be prepared because there will be over 50 exhibitors to learn about and discuss any new technologies, current roadblocks, and potential solutions to your clinical trial pipeline. For more details, check out the full list of sponsors, co-sponsors and exhibitors attending this event.
Find out who’s going
It can be difficult to determine who exactly is going to be attending conferences in smaller venues, but we believe the Outsourcing in Clinical Trials Nordics event will be a unique platform for the pharma, biotech and medical device groups in the region to network and collaborate in order to refine outsourcing strategies. Selecting the right partners, managing your relationships with solution providers and targeting other stakeholders are all key factors in increasing quality and reducing the overall cost of clinical trials. This content-driven conference will offer attendees opportunities to develop practical strategies that they can implement to optimize just about any type of clinical trial program.
Day 1 will kick-off the conference with registration promptly followed by six back-to-back speaker sessions and panel discussions on multiple topics such as updates on supporting Nordic drug development pipelines, and expediting timelines through better site management, along with various informative topics. After lunch there will be another round of speaker sessions including more time for networking with fellow attendees and exhibitors. Day 2 will continue with many more speaker presentations, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions covering two different tracks that will be focusing on either clinical trial innovation or medical devices. In addition to all of these speaker sessions and presentations, there will be over 50 exhibitors to explore, so make sure to leave room for networking with potential solution providers as well as other attendees!
Another great way to prepare for your journey through the exhibit area is to check out the Interactive Floor Plan to find specific companies that you’re interested in speaking with and lay out your plans for exploring the show. The interactive map is a great tool for anyone interested in making the most of their time at OCT Nordics 2019.
Wear comfortable footwear
This might not seem like a big deal but we think it’s worth mentioning, and since exploring the conference will span over 2 days, please make sure to wear your most comfortable footwear and attire to the event. You’ll want to be at peak endurance during the show, so be sure to drink plenty of water, and don’t miss out on any important exhibits, speakers sessions, and most of all, meetings!
