The city of Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums that are filled with its long and rich history. Munich is widely known around the world for its annual Oktoberfest celebration and endless beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. If you’re in the region and also apart of the clinical trial development space, be sure the check out this year’s OCT DACH 2019 conference and exhibition in early October.
OCT DACH 2019 is organized by Arena International Events Groups and will be held from October 9th - 10th at the The Westin Grand Munich, in Munich, Germany. After an incredibly successful inaugural edition in Zurich, Switzerland, Outsourcing in Clinical Trials (OCT) DACH 2019 is bound to be another outstanding European event. With the ability to share ideas between large and small pharma alongside innovative solution providers, this event will offer an interactive and knowledgeable platform for attendees, and will be a highlight within the DACH pharma industry this year. Attendees will enjoy an engaging program fully loaded with workshops, panel discussions, roundtables and presentations, with an added bonus of obtaining local knowledge on the opportunities for clinical trials in the region. Historically there has always been a great interest in conferences organized by Arena International Events Group and tickets are always limited, so be sure to register your team soon.
Arena International Events Group is an amazing events organizer, with over 10,000 business executives from “Fortune 1000” companies attending over 80 of their events worldwide every year. Addressed by over 1,700 industry leaders, their conferences deliver cutting edge content, leading technologies and numerous discussion opportunities. The group has a large portfolio of established, annual events with many of them being the flagship events within their respective industries.
For such large scale events, it can quickly become overwhelming for a team of company attendees, particularly if limited in size. With so much potential ground to cover, making the most of your time and investment is key, so we’ve put a few tips together for planning out your time in Munich:
Know the area and activities
The 2nd annual edition of the DACH conference will mainly focus on the operational challenges in clinical development found within Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Over 2 days, attendees will discuss the common challenges, technological advancements, and overall trends impacting the region, including steps for defining contractual relationships and getting the maximum value from external providers. This conference will be a great opportunity to procure new relationships with CROs and constructing defined deadlines in your clinical trial timelines. If your regional team is currently hitting roadblocks in your clinical trial pipeline and bottlenecks with your clinical outsourcing strategies, there is no better conference to attend this year.
Some of the features that OCT DACH 2019 will have to offer include:
- 250+ attendees to meet each year
- 20+ exhibitors to explore
- 30+ speakers
- 75% attendees at director-level or higher
Identify the right companies to meet
Even though this particular conference is small in size with around 250 attendees, compared to some of the larger events we’ve recently talked about, OCT DACH provides a unique advantage of networking with your colleagues on a very personal level, creating a concentrated atmosphere of close-knit experiences and building intimate relationships that would otherwise be very difficult to achieve at the larger conferences. When searching the conference website, you won’t find an official conference mobile application or even an interactive floorplan, but the exhibitor list and conference agenda will really help to plan out your visit in Munich.
After listening to some speaker sessions and panel discussions, take some time to visit vendors in the exhibitor hall and discover new solutions that will speed up and potentially lower the costs of your clinical trials and development pipeline. There will be over 20 exhibitors to learn about and discuss new technologies, current bottlenecks in development, and potential solutions to your clinical trial pipeline. Find out who’s going
Sometimes it’s difficult to determine who’s going to be attending conferences in smaller venues, but we believe the Outsourcing in Clinical Trials DACH event will be a unique platform for the pharma, biotech and medical device groups in the region to network and collaborate in order to refine all of the various clinical trial outsourcing strategies throughout the industry today. Selecting the right partners, managing your relationships with solution providers and targeting other stakeholders for potential value are all key factors in reducing the overall cost of clinical trials. This content-driven conference will offer attendees opportunities to develop practical strategies that they can implement in order to optimize any clinical trial program.
Day 1 will kick-off the conference with registration promptly followed by the chair’s opening remarks. Starting at 9am there will be a Keynote presentation regarding live cycle management in the current regulatory environment, and then multiple speaker sessions on various informative topics with refreshments. The networking lunch will be held at 1pm, followed by more presentations, and then interactive roundtable discussions starting at 4pm, with additional time for networking with fellow attendees and exhibitors. Day 2 will continue with more speaker sessions, as well as panel discussions, workshops and roundtable discussions. In addition to all of these speaker sessions and presentations, there will be over 20 exhibitors to explore, so make sure to leave room for networking with potential solution providers as well as other attendees!
